Dellert to lead burn group; Elllman joins consumer reporting group; more departures and arrivals

Edwin Dellert will succeed Kimberly Hoarle as CEO of the $7.6-revenue American Burn Association, effective March 31.

Dellert named leader of burn group

The $7.6M-revenue American Burn Association announced Edwin Dellert will take over as CEO, effective March 31. He will succeed Kimberly Hoarle, who is now CEO of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology after nearly eight years leading ABA.

“Ed’s extensive experience in nonprofit health care leadership and strategic development makes him an excellent fit for the ABA,” said ABA Board President Sharmila Dissanaike. “His deep understanding of medical education, operational excellence, and stakeholder engagement will be instrumental in advancing our mission and strengthening our impact on burn care professionals and the patients they serve.”

Dellert has spent the past nearly nine years at the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, most recently as chief publications, learning and operations officer. Previously, he was chief learning officer at the American Society of Anesthesiologists, where he spent two years. He also spent 15 years at the American College of Chest Physicians, where he was senior vice president of clinical education and informatics and research.

He has a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Millikin University and a master’s degree in health care administration/management from the University of Phoenix.

Ellman to helm consumer reporting group

The $285K-revenue National Consumer Reporting Association announced Eric J. Ellman has been named the group’s next president. 

“Eric has deep experience in association management, the consumer reporting industry, and the laws and processes that govern that industry,” said Heather Russell-Schroeder, NCRA’s chair of the board.

Ellman previously spent nearly 27 years at the Consumer Data Industry Association, the majority of which in the role of senior vice president of public policy and legal affairs. He also served as interim president and CEO in two separate stints. Earlier in his career, he spent five years at the Direct Selling Association

He has a bachelor’s degree from American University and a law degree from the University of Baltimore.

American Seed Trade AssociationDanielle Cummins has joined the $6.6M-revenue ASTA as director of membership engagement. She previously served as an account executive and senior intelligence analyst at The Directions Group (formerly Aimpoint Research), where she spent nearly three years. 

Bipartisan Policy CenterDavid Hill will be joining the $31M-revenue BPC in March as executive vice president of energy. He previously spent six years at NRG Energy, over three years at law firm Sidley Austin and nearly seven years at the U.S. Department of Energy.

Council of Insurance Agents & BrokersAudra Jackson has been named the $27M-revenue CIAB’s director of government affairs. Previously, she was special assistant to former President Joe Biden and White House legislative affairs liaison. She also spent nearly seven years at the U.S. House of Representatives.

Edison Electric InstituteJeremy Ortiz is now $96M-revenue EEI’s director of media relations. He previously was deputy press secretary at the U.S. Department of Energy for over two years. He also served as a staffer on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee under former Sen. Joe Machin (I-W. Va.).

National Retail Federation—The $69M-revenue NRF announced three changes to its leadership team.

Mercy Beehler has returned to NRF as vice president of government relations. She spent the past three years at E-commerce company Alibaba Group, where she was director of government affairs and head of policy communications. She previously spent three years at NRF as director of member relations.

Meghan Cruz is now vice president of advocacy and engagement. Cruz has spent the past seven years at NRF, most recently as senior director of grassroots advocacy. In the past, she held positions at the National Propane Gas Association, U.S. House of Representatives and the American Bar Association.

Jason Straczewski has been promoted to group vice president of government relations and political affairs. He previously served as vice president of government relations and political affairs for the past seven years. Earlier in his career, he also worked at the International Franchise Association and the National Association of Manufacturers.
